West Suburban
Senior Services
CMSS’ West Suburban location is a welcoming senior center with knowledgeable, dedicated, and caring staff.
We offer free, weekday activities and programming that welcome seniors to connect with friends – old and new. We provide a daily lunch, for a small suggested donation. And we serve as a trusted resource, responding to the needs of the older adults we work with.
West Suburban creates a place of belonging for all seniors in our community.

More about our LGBT+ Programming
Our LGBT+ programs serve LGBT+ older adults and allies in the western suburbs of Chicago. We believe it is vitally important to offer targeted outreach and services to LGBT+ older adults to promote equality and dignity in service delivery while also breaking down barriers which can limit access to needed services. We work to understand and meet the growing needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied community in the western suburbs through outreach and programming delivered with knowledge, sensitivity, and pride.
Each month we collaborate with our local Area Agency on Aging, AgeOptions to host a Thrive with Pride Café. Thrive with Pride Cafés provide safe gathering spaces for LGBT+ older adults to socialize with peers, and seek and offer support. AgeOptions provides their signature educational programming and services to our site, tailoring content to the needs and want of our unique population.
Given LGBT+ older adults’ historic mistrust of government and healthcare institutions, AgeOptions decided early in the project to partner with local, community-based organizations. Partner sites throughout Cook County, like West Suburban, are asked to provide at least one monthly gathering that is open to all but targeted specifically to LGBT+ older adults and/or their caregivers. We are proud to be a partner in this work.
We welcome volunteers!
